SENTINELONE MACOS AGENT RECEIVES PERFECT SCORE (6/6/6) IN LATEST AV-TEST EVALUATION
SentinelOne, the autonomous endpoint protection company, today announced that it received a perfect score in the AV-Test Product Review and Certification Report for June 2018 for macOS High Sierra. The testing revealed that the SentinelOne Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP) excelled across the testing categories of protection, performance, and usability.
Key findings of the report include:
The SentinelOne Endpoint Protection Platform achieved a 99% security detection rate across 507 samples of malware
The SentinelOne Endpoint Protection Platform saw only 1% slower download speeds of applications compared to the industry average of 3% slower speeds. Additionally, SentinelOne saw a mere 3% slower speeds in copying of files compared to the staggering industry average of 15% slower speeds
The SentinelOne Endpoint Protection Platform registered zero false detections and issued zero false warnings when installing or using legitimate software
“This perfect score is further validation of our capabilities in a macOS environment and a testament to SentinelOne’s offering as the most advanced and effective single agent EPP and EDR solution regardless of environment or architecture,” said Tomer Weingarten CEO, SentinelOne. “While other players in the endpoint space look at Mac and Linux with lesser importance, we see these operating systems as highly vulnerable attack surfaces. Here at SentinelOne, we pride ourselves on the breadth and depth of our OS support – Mac is no exception.”
The SentinelOne Endpoint Protection Platform tackles problems legacy antivirus and many other next-generation endpoint security solutions simply can’t – and replaces legacy and other next-generation antivirus solutions in over 80 percent of new deployments. Using machine learning and AI to dynamically analyze all low-level processes running on the endpoint device, the platform predicts malicious behavior and stops attacks from spreading, so the threats are detected before they are ever granted access to network resources. This happens much faster than traditional AVs would allow and includes stopping zero-day attacks.
During April and May 2018, AV-Test evaluated 4 business security products for macOS High Sierra.. SentinelOne’s full report can be found here.
